News from the Mongolian steppe: new data about Pallas’s cat!

The founder of Wildlife Initiative Claudio Augugliaro come back from the central Mongolian steppe with new data from the 40 camera traps set in our project area, aiming to know more about ecology and Pallas’s cat population trend. The long-term project has been implementing in partnership with the Mongolian Academy of Science (Dr. Bariusha Munkhtsog), and the S. Illinois University (Dr. Stefano Anile, and Prof. Clayton Nielsen). Furthermore, Claudio conducted 45 interviews to investigate the threats facing by Pallas’s cat with major attention to depredation by shepherd dogs. This last project in partnership with the PICA aims to mitigate the threats related to Pallas’s cat depredation by shepherd dogs.
